The Great 40k Terrain Challenge 2: Fuel Reserve

We made the deadline for the first piece. This is our next project. The deadline will be Sunday, November 5; two weekends and the days in between with a few more since we’re posting this two days early. Hopefully we’ll get someone else from the club to join in. Our next task:

Fuel Reserve. Page 105 of 6th edition.
Armored Fuel Barrels (or storage tanks) can prove handy shelter-right up until the point they go BOOM!

If a model is in cover behind a fuel reserve, it has a 5+ cover save. However, each time a model successfully makes this cover save, immediately roll a D6. On a roll of 1, the barrel (or tank) explodes. etc.

Here are some materials I’ll be using:

We’ll see how this one goes.

Soda cans are also easy to use if you feel like doing a structure.

very easy to make. MDF base, two cans, add a card panel, add some piping, paint then add the crochet mesh.

Update 11/24/2017

Kudos to Dave, one of the newest members of our group, for getting his project done on time. I got sidetracked on a number of other gaming projects and let this one slip to the side.

A very worthy effort. Good to see a member add a new piece to his terrain board!

I’ll have to get mine done this weekend. But wait til you see what I’ve been working on!

Update: Saturday, November 25, 2017

Okay, here it is painted with base coats. I made a few changes. This is designed to go against a table edge.

Update Saturday, February 17, 2018

It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything to the blog. Playing and building terrain takes up more of my precious time. This was a fun build. I’ve meant to put one of these together for quite a while. (And I finished it quite a while ago.) I’ll be putting up a few new and completed pieces in the coming weeks.
