“Praise Nurgle! Watch as the landscape withers. Rejoice as men fall victim to boils, rot, and pestilence. Laugh as Rot Flies dance above the seething bodies of those inflicted with the gift of the Warp.”—Typhus, champion of Nurgle

IMPERIAL VOXCAST (6 483 745.M41)—The infamous Death Guard champion, Typhus, has led a warband of traitor Astartes and heretical cultists into the southeast suburbs of the industrial city of Mygor.
Scene of a major traitor offensive in recent weeks, the city largely held off the original attack but multiple battalian-sized units under the command of Typhus managed to penetrate the six-kilometer-deep defenses just west of the Soredes River.
“The defenses of Mygor stand firm, but the presence of such a powerful traitor leader inside our defenses, coupled with the thousands of traitors he commands, is intolerable,” said High Marshal Mikhail Botha, supreme commander of Imperial forces on the planet, during a public briefing of the military situation.
Typhus alarms High Command
The presence of Typhus in the battle is seen as a major threat, military authorities say.
The infamous traitor, known by his troops as the “Herald of Nurgle,” led a Chaos fleet into the Dozarian System almost a month ago and forced the Imperial Navy fleet to withdraw, isolating Dozaria from the rest of the Imperium.
“We have every confidence that the Imperial Navy will soon return and destroy the traitor fleet orbiting overhead,” Botha said.
Typhus’ presence on the planet’s surface—and his lead role in recent attacks is seen as an ominous turn in the eight-year war for control of Dozaria. The Death Guard warlord is accused of multiple atrocities across the galaxy, and his presence in the war has re-energized traitor forces across the planet.

Fighting in suburbs
This threat was highlighted yesterday when a planned counterattack against Death Guard forces in the Mygor suburbs was interrupted by a preemptive attack by traitor forces led by Typhus, authorities say.

The fighting occurred 300 meters northwest of the enemy-held Bastion #23. Cultist hordes and a contingent of Death Guard warriors advanced on the Imperial lines at 07:45.
“A massive force of cultists and heretics advanced against the Imperial left flank of the 13th Converged Regiment, a mix of surviving Cadian and Tallarn troops, while a force of several dozen Death Guard warriors, led by Typhus, charged the right flank,” said Colonel Recarde Nash, a staff officer of the Dozaria High Command.
“Artillery and small-arms fire caused immense casualties on advancing cultists crossing the Mestre suburb,” Nash said. “Although several warp-tainted creatures also threatened that flank, a squadron of Sentinels, supported by veteran Cadian troops, counterattacked and threw back the enemy threat.”
